Yahoo CEO Accused Of Illegally Purging Male Workers In Lawsuit

KCBS_740

SUNNYVALE (KCBS) – A former Yahoo employee is suing the Sunnyvale-based internet company, claiming that CEO Marissa Mayer led an illegal purge of male tech workers.

Scott Ard, who was fired last year and is now editor-in-chief of the Silicon Valley Business Journal, filed the lawsuit.

Ard's suit claims that male employees at Yahoo were singled out by CEO Marissa Mayer and her executive staff because of their gender, and then terminated by the company's controversial quarterly performance review (QPR) program.

The lawsuit claims QPR's "permitted and encouraged discrimination based on gender and other personal biases held by management."

A Yahoo spokesperson told the Mercury News that they cannot comment on pending litigation.

CFO Ken Goldman recently said that the reviews are good for the company culture.
