Woman Tied Up, Assaulted In Hercules Home Invasion
HERCULES (CBS SF) - Police were seeking two men who tied up a woman and assaulted her inside her Hercules home on Tuesday night, police said.
At about 10:40 p.m., police responded to a home in the 100 block of Bonaire Avenue on a report of a residential robbery.
Arriving officers found the woman suffering from facial injuries.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment and then released.
The victim told police she had been sleeping in her upstairs bedroom when she awoke to find a man shining a bright light in her face. The suspect said he was "the police" and asked her if she was alone in the house, Hercules police said.
He then punched her in the face and tied her up with a cord, police said.
The suspect put an object believed to be a gun to the victim's head and threatened to kill her, according to police.
He then dragged the victim into the bedroom closet and demanded money and jewelry. When the victim said she didn't have either, he hit her again and threatened to shoot her, police said.
The victim also heard a second man in the bedroom, but did not see him, police said. The suspects eventually left the home.
Hercules police investigators examined the scene and determined that the suspects had gained entry through an unlocked downstairs bedroom window.
The master bedroom and closet had been ransacked, but the victim could not determine whether any property had been stolen, police said.
Several small electronic devices inside the residence were not taken, according to police.
The suspects are believed to be two men in their 20s, both with thin builds and of medium height.
No arrests have been made in the case.
