Woman Struck By Caltrain In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- After a woman was struck by a southbound train on the Caltrain tracks in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood Saturday morning train service has been delayed, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.
The woman survived the incident on the tracks south of 16th Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. and was taken to a hospital, spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.
The train involved in the accident, train No. 426, had yet to be moved at 11:30 a.m. Southbound trains are single-tracking around the stalled train, according to Dunn.
The affected train had departed the San Francisco station at 10:15 a.m. and was scheduled to stop at 22nd Street at 10:20 a.m.
As of 11:05 a.m. the northbound tracks were open for trains to pass through at 10 mph.
Passengers aboard the train involved were expected to board southbound train No. 428, which is running about 10 minutes late, Dunn said.
A northbound train, No. 425, arrived in San Francisco 40 minutes late because of the accident, Dunn said.
