Woman Stabbed To Death In San Jose Domestic Violence Case
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) - A woman who was stabbed to death at a San Jose apartment early Friday morning was a victim of domestic violence, a police spokesman said.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, was killed by a 48-year-old man at their apartment in the 4200 block of Albany Drive, according to police Sgt. Jason Dwyer.
Officers arrived around 2:40 a.m. and found the woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the apartment.
The suspect, whose name is not yet being released, surrendered to police. He was in the process of being booked into Santa Clara County Jail Friday morning.
Detectives are investigating the murder as a domestic violence case, and are trying to determine a motive for the stabbing, Dwyer said.
"They were in some kind of dating relationship, but we don't think they were married," he said.
The killing was the city's 29th homicide of the year. San Jose recorded just 20 homicides in all of 2009.
