Woman Shot, Killed During Gun Battle Outside Lil Scrappy Concert In Vallejo
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- One woman was fatally shot and another injured during a gun battle outside a hip-hop concert in a Vallejo park late Friday night, according to a police lieutenant.
The gunfight, allegedly involving multiple male shooters in a parking lot near the Foley Cultural Center by Lake Chabot, was reported at 11:53 p.m., Vallejo police Lt. K. Bartlett said.
The deceased victim was 34 years old and her identity has not yet been released to the public, Bartlett said.
Another woman was injured by gunfire and sustained minor injuries, according to Bartlett.
Bartlett said the women likely got in the middle of the gunfight and may not have been the intended targets.
Multiple cars were shot up during the gunfight and different caliber bullets were located at the scene, indicating multiple shooters, Bartlett said.
The rapper, Lil Scrappy, who is known for his role on the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, was performing at the Foley Cultural Center at the time of the shooting. The concert ended early as a result of the shooting, Bartlett said.
As of Saturday morning, no suspects are in custody and a motive has not been determined.
Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to contact Vallejo police at (707) 648-4321.
