Police Find Woman Shot In Car Along I-580 In Oakland
OAKLAND (CBS 5) -- Police found a woman shot inside a vehicle along Interstate 580 in Oakland during the Monday afternoon commute, authorities said.
The vehicle was found with a blown out rear window on the Edwards Avenue off-ramp from eastbound 580. According to the California Highway Patrol, the shooting apparently happened at a service station. The victim drove away from the shooting and stopped at the off-ramp.
A relative of the shooting victim told CBS 5 the woman was shot in the back.
Police questioned a man who was also in the car. The off-ramp was temporarily closed for the investigation.
The CHP does not know the victim's condition and said the case is being handled by the Oakland Police Department. Authorities have not named any suspects.
