Woman In Wheelchair Stabbed In San Francisco SoMa; Suspect Arrested
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- One person was arrested after a woman in a wheelchair was attacked and stabbed multiple times in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood Sunday afternoon, police said Monday.
The attack occurred around 5:30 p.m. at Ninth and Mission streets, according to police.
The 58-year-old woman was sitting in her wheelchair when the suspect, a 25-year-old man, approached her and cut her neck multiple times with a kitchen knife, according to police.
The woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police were able to take a suspect into custody after a witness followed him from the scene and flagged down a patrol unit.
The suspect's name was not immediately available for release Monday morning.
