Woman Faces Jail In San Bruno Explosion Scam
SAN BRUNO (AP) -- A San Francisco woman who pleaded no contest to posing as a victim of the San Bruno pipeline explosion to receive free benefits is facing a year in jail.
San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe told the San Francisco Chronicle that Judge John Grandsaert on Monday rejected a prosecutor's request to send Angela Marie Wise to state prison.

She will instead serve her sentence for felony counts of burglary, passing a forged document, perjury and identity theft in San Mateo County jail.
Authorities say the 47-year-old told staffers processing benefits that her home was damaged and that she had been homeless since the September blast.
She requested a $1,000 Visa card and said she lived in an in-law unit in San Bruno that investigators determined did not exist.
