Woman Attacked, Stabbed In Concord Baldwin Park
CONCORD (BCN) - A 48-year-old woman was assaulted and stabbed in Concord's Baldwin Park on Sunday afternoon, Concord police Cpl. James Carroll said.
The victim had walked to the park, located north of Bonifacio Street and east of Port Chicago Highway, and was sitting at a picnic table when two men approached her and demanded her car keys.
She told them that she didn't have a car and one of the men struck her on the back of her head, knocking her to the ground, Carroll said.
When the woman got up, the second man attacked her with an unknown cutting instrument, Carroll said.
The two men then fled the park and the woman walked across Port Chicago Highway to the hospital at about 5:15 p.m., where she was treated for her injuries. She is expected to survive, Carroll said.
The first suspect was described as a white man in his 40s. He is about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He has brown eyes and was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt and light-colored jeans.
The second suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his late 30s. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. He has dark bushy hair, dark eyes and a long goatee. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark blue or black sweatpants.
As of late Tuesday morning, neither of the men had been identified.
