Winning Numbers Drawn For Mega Millions $356M Jackpot
SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) -- The winning numbers selected in Tuesday evening's drawing of the Mega Millions game were: 09-19-34-44-51, Mega Ball: 24, according to the California Lottery.
Tuesday's $356 million jackpot, was the third-largest prize in the multi-state game's history. There was no immediate word as to whether someone had all the winning numbers to lay claim to the jackpot.
The odds of winning the jackpot were approximately one in 176 million, according to the Mega Millions website.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won was $390 million in March 2007, lottery officials said.
In the game, the winner is selected through five balls drawn from a set of balls numbered one through 56, and the Mega Ball is drawn from a set numbered one through 46.
Mega Millions is played in California and 41 other states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
