Winning Mega Millions Lottery Ticket Sold In Alameda
ALAMEDA (CBS SF) -- A winning Mega Millions lottery ticket that was sold in Alameda for the Halloween drawing has yet to be redeemed, lottery officials said Saturday.
The winning ticket was purchased for $1 at the Maitland Market located at 109 Maitland Drive in Alameda.
Another ticket, purchased at a liquor store in Los Angeles County, also matched the winning numbers 67, 11, 58, 36 and 29. Both tickets missed the Mega number 15.
The ticket purchased in Alameda and the ticket purchased in Los Angeles County, are each worth $604,409, lottery officials said.
Winners should sign the back of their tickets in ink, keep the ticket in a safe place and visit any of the nine California Lottery district offices.
Winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their Mega Millions prize, whereas anyone who hits the jackpot has up to a year to claim his or her prize, lottery officials said.
Since nobody has hit the jackpot yet, the jackpot has now grown to about $321 million.
According to the California Lottery, ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by lottery players goes back into local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, as well as prizes and lottery retailer compensation.
