Will Bay Area Catch America's Cup Fever?
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The celebration has only just begun following Friday's announcement that San Francisco has landed the 2013 America's Cup yachting competition.
While the Super Bowl lasts just a few hours on a Sunday, the Cup challenge goes on for months.
And now it's time for San Franciscans to make a toast and to brush up on their nautical terminology.
San Francisco will host at least 43 days of racing including the finals in summer of 2013.

Jim Cascino is the President of the St. Francis Yacht Club Foundation, which promotes the sport that's sometimes misunderstood.
"Some people think that sailing isn't a feat sport and only for the wealthy and that's not true. We support handicapped people who sail all around the world, kids of all colors, all races, all socio-economic levels and that are what San Francisco's going to see," said Cascino.
Infrastructure improvements are enormous, especially to the piers just south of the Bay Bridge. The public viewing area runs from about Chestnut to Union along the Embarcadero, piers 19 to 29.
