What's Next for Don't Ask, Don't Tell?
Opponents of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy are considering their options now that Senate Republicans have blocked a measure that could have led to its demise. Democrats had hoped to repeal the policy that keeps openly gay people from serving in the armed forces before the mid-term elections. KCBS spoke with Richard Socarides, a former adviser to Bill Clinton on gay and lesbian issues.
