Weekend Sewer Cleaning On San Francisco's Market Street Impacts Muni Service
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Overhead Muni lines will be out of service this weekend on San Francisco's Market Street due to a sewer cleaning and inspection project, officials said.
Sewers under Market Street between Third and Ninth streets will be cleaned, flushed and inspected between 2 a.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. on Sunday, according to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.
Work could extend as far as one block in all directions from the affected intersections and some noise may be generated.
Service vehicles could block some lanes of Market Street on a temporary basis during the project and minor traffic delays should be expected.
Muni's overhead wires will be shut down during the operation, and the F Line trains and all electric coaches will be replaced with motor coaches until the work is completed.
