Watsonville Police Investigate Possible Gang-Related Shooting
WATSONVILLE (CBS SF) -- Police in Watsonville have detained several suspects after a suspected gang-related shooting Saturday evening.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Airport Road and Amber Court at about 6:20 p.m., according to police.
When officers arrived, they found a 27-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the leg, police said.
Police said witnesses saw a light-colored Honda sedan leave the area towards Airport Boulevard.
The victim was airlifted to a hospital. He is expected to survive.
An investigation led to the Santa Cruz County Gang Task Force finding a car that matched the suspect vehicle. Several suspects were detained and a handgun was recovered, police said.
No arrests have been made. The shooting remains under investigation.
