Watsonville Man Holds Backyard Prowler At Gunpoint Until Police Arrive
WATSONVILLE (CBS SF) -- A Watsonville resident held a prowler at gunpoint until police arrived and arrested the suspect early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to reports of a resident holding a man at gunpoint in a backyard in the 100 block of Atkinson Lane at about 1 a.m., according to Watsonville police.
The resident had apparently been alerted to a tool shed because his dog was standing outside barking at it, police said.
The man opened the tool shed and found a prowler inside. He detained the suspect at gunpoint and called 911.
No one was injured and no shots were fired.
The prowler was later identified 39-year-old Paul Granados, police said.
Granados was believed to have been involved in an assault on the resident's sister earlier that day.
Police were investigating why Granados went to the man's home.
Anyone with information was asked to contact Watsonville police at (831) 768-3350.
