HAVANA, Cuba (RADIO.COM) - Over 1.2 million Cubans turned out this past weekend for a historic free concert thrown by The Rolling Stones.
The legendary rockers played to the crowd of nearly 700,000 inside the Cuidad Deportiva in Havana, while another half million listened outside the stadium.
"Cuba's got so much music, so many kinds of music, all of it brilliant, it was inevitable that we would play here one day," said Mick Jagger in a recap video posted by the band.
"It's an exciting chapter for us all, for Cuba, and for the Stones," echoed Keith Richards. "It's refreshing for us to break into somewhere new."
