49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been the center of attention for his national anthem protests throughout the season so far. However, this week, he was making headlines for a different reason as head coach Chip Kelly named him the starter for the team's game against the Buffalo Bills. Kaepernick hadn't started since Week 8 of last year.
After a punt and a field goal on the team's first two possessions, Kaepernick showed off the arm strength that made him one of the most exciting players in the league just a few short years ago. He connected with Torrey Smith for a 53-yard touchdown, his first passing touchdown since Week 6 of last season.
