Walnut Creek Woman Who Jumped From Window May Face Stabbing Charges
WALNUT CREEK (BCN) - A woman who jumped out a second-story window Friday night could face assault charges because police suspect the woman leapt from the window after stabbing a man inside the Walnut Creek home, police said.
About 7:15 p.m., officers responded a home on Camino Verde, where a woman had reportedly jumped out of a second-story window.
Outside the home, officers found 45-year-old Walnut Creek resident Kelly Blakeman, who sustained injuries related to her fall, but inside the home, police found a man who had been stabbed.
Police administered first aid to both victims until paramedics arrived and transported the injured man and woman to John Muir Medical Center.
Both Blakeman and the male victim are believed to have injuries that are not life threatening, police said.
Investigators plan to seek charges against Blakeman of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly stabbing the man before jumping out the window, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Walnut Creek police at (925) 943-5844.
