Walmart Wants To Use Drones For Home Delivery, Pickup
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Add Walmart to the list of retailers that want to drop off your packages, literally -- using drones.
The world's biggest big-box store applied to the Federal Aviation Administration for permission to research drone use in "deliveries to customers at Walmart facilities, as well as to consumer homes," according to Reuters.
Amazon, Google, Dominos Pizza have been also been testing drones for deliveries.
Walmart wants to use drones for grocery delivery and pickup, and for its warehouse operations.
The FAA has yet to approve drones for commercial use. The agency is expected to finalize regulations within a year.
