Violent Night In Oakland Leaves 1 Man Dead, 5 Wounded In Unrelated Shootings
OAKLAND (AP) -- One man is dead and five others wounded in what police are saying are unrelated shootings in Oakland Saturday night.
Police say 19-year-old Dominic Carter of San Leandro was shot and killed, two other 19-year-old men and a 32-year-old woman were wounded in a shooting in East Oakland around 7:02 p.m. Saturday.
Carter died at the scene. Police say the other two men and the woman suffered wounds that were not considered life-threatening.
Police didn't release a motive for the shooting, but Officer Angelica Mendoza said that the woman was shot while waiting for a bus.
In a second shooting, police say 19-year-old Richmond man and a 14-year-old girl were wounded during an exchange of gunfire after dozens of people left a party in the city's downtown area around 11:15 p.m.
