Injured Boater Rescued By Coast Guard Helicopter Crew Off Monterey County Coast

MONTEREY (CBS SF) -- New video shows a helicopter rescue off the Monterey County Coast.

The Coast Guard responded to an emergency call Tuesday night about a sailor who was in trouble after falling and hitting his head.

An aircrew arrived in a helicopter, but couldn't rescue the man from the boat because of high winds.

The crew then deployed a rescue swimmer to pull the man into the water so the helicopter could hoist them to safety.

The sailor was recovering in a hospital.
