Victims Of 2 San Jose Homicides Identified
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- San Jose police on Monday released the identities of victims in two separate homicides in the city late last week.
Filipe Banderas, 19, was found shot around 5:20 a.m. Thursday on the northeast corner of Santee and Audubon drives in east San Jose after neighbors called police about hearing gunshots and someone screaming, police said.
Banderas, a San Jose resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Then shortly after 9:55 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a person stabbed in the 2900 block of Magliocco Drive in west San Jose and found 35-year-old Danny Brito suffering from at least one stab wound, according to police.
Brito, also a San Jose resident, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 10:35 p.m., police said.
No arrests have been made in connection with either case, but police said they believe the killing of Brito was gang-motivated.
Anyone with information about either homicide is encouraged to call the Police Department's homicide unit at (408) 277-5283.
