Veronica De La Cruz Named Co-Anchor For KPIX 5 News
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- KPIX 5 announced Tuesday the hiring of Veronica De La Cruz to co-anchor the 6 p.m. newscast weekdays with Ken Bastida, and the 10 p.m. weekday newscast on the CBS duopoly's sister station, KBCW. Elizabeth Cook will continue anchoring the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts.
De La Cruz comes from MSNBC, where she anchored and reported. She was a host of MSNBC's "First Look," as well as for NBC's "Early Today Show," and she served as a correspondent for both NBC and MSNBC.
Prior to that, De La Cruz spent six years at CNN as an anchor and correspondent for CNN Worldwide and for CNN's "American Morning."
De La Cruz began her career in news as an anchor and reporter for KYMA, the NBC affiliate in Yuma, Arizona.

Before journalism, De La Cruz spent a decade of her life as a competitive figure skater. She is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association. De La Cruz returns to Northern California where she was born and spent her childhood.
