Car Flies Off Hwy 85 Into San Jose Parking Lot; 3 Hurt
SAN JOSE (KCBS) - Three people were injured Thursday when a truck and a sedan collided on Highway 85, sending one of the vehicles through a chain link fence and into a nearby parking lot.
Fire officials said the collision around 10:30 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway was initially reported as an explosion.
The driver of a Honda Accord lost control when he was struck by the truck just north of Blossom Hill Road, smashing through a chain link fence and coming to a stop on city streets outside O'Reilly Auto Parts on Snell Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said the driver, another adult and a child inside the Accord suffered minor injuries. Their names have not been released. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.
