Vampire Diaries Star Recognized For Eco Efforts
BURBANK (CW BAY AREA) - On Saturday, "Vampire Diaries" star, Ian Somerhalder and a few other celebrities was recognized for their efforts and contributions to help protect the planet through green-living at the 22nd Annual Environmental Media Awards.
Somerhalder was honored with the "Futures Award" for his own organization, the Ian Somerhalder Foundation that aims to educate individuals on the importance getting involved with projects to save the environment and animal rights issues.
Along with Somerhalder, actress Jessica Alba was awarded the "Green Parent Award" for her work with several green charities and as a founding member of The Honor Company, whose mission is to help create a healthy, eco-friendly environment and sustainable future for the next generation.
The 2012 EMA Awards was held at the Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, Saturday, September 29th, 2012. Actress Malin Akerman hosted the event.
