Vallejo School Votes Unanimously To Replace Apache Mascot
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- The Vallejo City Unified School District voted unanimously Wednesday night to replace the Apache mascot at Vallejo High School.
A school design team was working on a replacement that will be voted on by students and staff. The top pick will then go to the school board for final approval. That would happen sometime in January.
The district planned to retire the decades old Apache mascot with the graduating class of 20-14.
Vallejo High had been one of four schools in the state to use the Apache as its symbol.
