Vallejo Police Open Fire On 2 Fleeing Suspects
VALLEJO (CBS SF) – No injuries were reported after Vallejo police opened fire on a SUV carrying two suspects running from officers late Wednesday night.
According to a police statement, officers tried to pull over the Audi near Alhambra Avenue and Laurel Street shortly after 11:00 p.m.
Police said the driver led officers on a pursuit through residential streets before ending up in a nearby cul-de-sac.
The driver allegedly refused to surrender and drove towards the officers, prompting them to shoot at the suspect.
Police said the SUV then crashed into the officers' patrol car and another car parked in the area. Both driver and passenger were put under arrest and booked into the Solano County jail.
According to the officers, a loaded firearm was found in plain view of the vehicle.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Marcus Anigilaje of Oakland, is accused of felony violation of probation, felony evading arrest and assault with a deadly weapon.
Passenger Troy Collins, 32, is accused of possessing a loaded gun in public, possessing a firearm as an ex-felon and possessing ammunition as an ex-felon.
