Vallejo Police Offering $50K Reward In 2009 Shooting Case
VALLEJO (BCN) -- The Vallejo Police Department is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the men responsible for the fatal shooting of Ivan Orozco in 2009, police announced Thursday.
Police requested and received a governor's reward from the state after pursuing and exhausting all investigative leads, police said.
Officers responded to Sixth and Cherry streets around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 4, 2009 and discovered Orozco, 19, suffering from gunshot wounds in his car. He later died at the scene, police said.
Orozco was shot while trying to protect his 19-year-old girlfriend during a robbery, police said.
His girlfriend was also in the car but was not injured.
The suspects were described as black men who were approximately 18 to 24 years old and wearing dark clothing, police said.
