Vallejo Man Killed In Shooting Near Bar
VALLEJO (CBS/BCN) -- A 20-year-old man was fatally shot this morning by a bar in Vallejo, police said.
At about 1:35 a.m., the Vallejo Police Department received several calls regarding shots being fired in front of a bar called My Office, located at 2414 Sacramento St.
When officers responded they found about 100 people leaving the area. Numerous shell casings were found in the street. Officers also found broken car windows and blood on the pavement.
Shortly afterward, police received calls from Kaiser hospital regarding a crowd that was fighting in the parking lot and in the lobby. Police were told someone had been shot.
Vallejo resident Eric Lynn Smith Jr. was found dead at the hospital. He had been shot in front of My Office, according to police.
Another shooting victim also was found at Kaiser. The 20-year-old victim, who was shot in the abdomen, was in stable condition, according to the Police Department. His name isn't being released.
This was Vallejo's third homicide in 2011.
