Woman Held Hostage In Vallejo Home By Intruder Fleeing Police
VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A man was arrested on Saturday in Vallejo after he allegedly entered a woman's home and held her hostage while trying to hide from police, according to a Vallejo police lieutenant.
At 4:28 p.m. Saturday, Vallejo police were patrolling in the 200 block of Arkansas Street near Sonoma Boulevard in answer to citizen complaints about illegal drug sales when they tried to contact the suspect, later identified Anthony Pratt, according to police Lt. John Whitney.
Pratt then fled on foot from the officers and lept over several fences during his attempt to escape, Whitney said.
Officers set up a perimeter around the neighborhood and started to search for Pratt, police said.
During the search for the suspect, a female victim contacted an officer and reported that Pratt had entered her home in the 200 block of Arkansas and held her against her will, according to Whitney.
She said when she tried to escape, Pratt held her around her neck and put his hand over her mouth before fleeing her home and hiding in a nearby apartment, police said.
The officer later located Pratt and arrested him. The victim identified Pratt as the man who held her in her house, according to police.
Pratt was booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing and a parole violation, Whitney said.
