Underprivileged San Jose Kids Benefit From Shark Tank Renaming
SAN JOSE (KCBS) - No sooner had the name of the Shark Tank officially changed to SAP Center than employees of the international business management software company hit the floor to start building bicycles.
Kids from underprivileged families in San Jose rode away from the name change ceremony Tuesday as early winners of the $8 million five-year naming rights deal.
"We partnered with Turning Wheels for Kids," said Katie Morgan of HandsOn Bay Area, which helps companies and non-profits with volunteering.

Volunteers from both SAP and the San Jose Sharks worked in three-person teams to assemble 150 bicycles for needy children and families, Morgan said.
"All of the bikes are going to be given to families in need and students in need all over Santa Clara County," she said.
About 3,000 SAP employees participated in different aspects of the rechristening of the former HP Pavilion, said the company's chief marketing officer, Jonathan Becher.
