Underground Cable Blamed For San Francisco Power Outage
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- A bad underground cable was blamed for leaving more than 4,000 PG&E customers in the dark Friday night in and around San Francisco's Western Addition neighborhood, a utility spokesman said.
The outage began at about 10 p.m. and affected 4,040 customers in the Western Addition, Civic Center, and Van Ness Corridor areas of the city, spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
Crews determined from their investigation that a bad underground cable spurred the outage.
Power was fully restored at 11:11 p.m., Guidi said.
