Two Planned Stadiums Move Ahead in San Jose

Even though Major League Baseball has yet to decide whether the Oakland A's will be allowed to move to San Jose, A's owner Lew Wolff has engaged an architect to design two new stadiums.

Wolff wants to build two stadiums because he also owns the San Jose Earthquakes, and would like a new home for them. He hired 360 Architecture for the job. Click to Listen

"I think it's good news, a step forward towards getting the A's to San Jose, which is something we've been working on for a long time," said San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed.

Without a decision from Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, and because of continuing territorial rights claims to the South Bay by the Giants, Reed says it makes sense to be prepared.

"We're looking forward to the day that the commissioner gives us the go-ahead, and having the architect onboard is one of the steps that you need to get ready if you want to move quickly," said Reed. "Once the commissioner gives us the word, we do want to move quickly."

360 Architecture designed the new home for the New York Jets and Giants.
