Two Killed In San Leandro Shooting
SAN LEANDRO (KCBS/BCN) - Two people were killed and two others injured in a shooting Saturday night at the Monarch Bay Golf Club in San Leandro.
San Leandro police said the shooting occurred around 10 p.m. on the dance floor of a restaurant the course rents out for events.
The manager of the restaurant said individuals who claimed to be throwing a birthday party for college-aged people had rented out the facility.
Units that responded to the scene found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
All three were taken to a local hospital, where one was pronounced dead. Police said the other two are believed to have suffered non life-threatening wounds.
Police also discovered a fourth victim, who had been taken to the hospital by friends. That victim was also pronounced dead at the hospital.
Alameda County Sheriff's deputies assisted San Leandro police with what was described as a "chaotic scene" at the party, as people were rapidly fleeing the area as police arrived.
San Leandro police are asking for the public's help from anyone with information on the shooting.
