L.A. Rams Decline To Pursue Bay Area Woman's @LaraMS Twitter Handle
(CBS SF) – After a Bay Area woman gained internet fame for a Twitter handle that could have been used by the reborn Los Angeles Rams, it appears the team has decided to not pursue her username.
On Friday, the team changed their Twitter handle from @StLouisRams to @RamsNFL, as the team held their first news conference from their Southern California home.
Lara M. Sasken has gone by @LaraMS on the social network since 2008. With Twitter names not being case sensitive, the user name could also be read as @LARams.
After the Rams announced their move back to Los Angeles from St. Louis, Sasken - director of communication at San Mateo-based GoPro - posted tweets referencing her newfound notoriety.
Soon after the name change, a Twitter user took the Rams old username, creating a page referencing the team's previous tenure in St. Louis. The user also posted a message for the team.
Twitter suspended the new St. Louis Rams account hours later.
As of Friday, the LARams.com domain name has not been claimed by the team.
