Truck Smashed Into Danville Costco, ATM Stolen
DANVILLE (BCN) -- Thieves reportedly used a stolen utility truck to smash through a door to a Costco store in Danville early Sunday morning and then dislodge an ATM inside, Danville police said.
The burglary happened shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday at the Costco at 3150 Fostoria Way.
Two suspects reportedly rammed the roll-up doors at the main entrance to the store with the truck. Once inside, they used the truck to remove an ATM from its foundation, police said.
The suspects took the ATM, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash, but abandoned the truck inside the store, police said.
Investigators found that the truck had been stolen from an East Bay Municipal Utilities District yard in San Ramon.
Police were following up on leads in the case Monday, and were asking anyone with information to call Detective Brian Sliger at (925) 314-3711.
