Truck Carrying 12,000 Pounds Of Grapes Overturns Near Windsor
WINDSOR (CBS SF) -- The driver in a pickup truck hauling a trailer filled with grapes that overturned onto northbound U.S. Highway 101 near Windsor Wednesday afternoon suffered minor injuries, according to a California Highway Patrol officer.
The incident was reported at 3:05 p.m. near Arata Lane. A Sig-alert was issued at 3:52 p.m., according the CHP.
One lane was blocked when about 12,000 pounds of grapes spilled from the 25-foot horse trailer attached to the pickup truck, according CHP Officer Ralph Caggiano.
The incident only involved the pickup truck, which was carrying an overloaded trailer, he said.
Caggiano said the driver only suffered minor injuries.
The spill was cleared and the alert was canceled around 4:30 p.m., according to the CHP.
