Trending: Midriff Tops on the Stars

Back in the early 2000s, everyone bared their midriff. From performing on stage to attending an event, you could always find Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey baring their sick abs for the whole world to see. Now in a new decade, a new batch of stars are letting you catch a glimpse of their toned bodies.

Katy Perry is known for her eccentric, eye-popping hair and crazy food dresses, but for the Lacoste Live Coachella Pool Party, Perry decided to dawn this midriff-baring top with a mini skirt.

Selena Gomez has been amping up her look since the release of her raunchy new movie Spring Breakers. Staying in the Spring break beach feel for the Spring Breakers premiere, Gomez wore the same tropical top matched with a high-waisted orange skirt. She completed the look with light orange lipstick and side-parted hair. This top must be trending..?

It seems the former Disney Channel star wanted to pay tribute to her roots in this number. Miley Cyrus wore this Mickey Mouse top baring her toned abs at the Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 fashion show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Maybe she's trying to be ironic, but there's nothing wholesome about showing that kind of skin in a Mickey shirt.

Vanessa Anne Hudgens, another Spring Breakers star, has been spotted all over Coachella in these bohemian, hippy outfits and most bared her midriff. Maybe it was because of the heat or maybe she's just proud of her body, but Vanessa looked hippy-chic in this particular Coachella outfit.

Rihanna may know exactly how to sex-up her wardrobe just like she does with her music, but at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, Rihanna decided to tone it down. She took a break from her usual bold look for something pretty, topped off with soft curls. She wore this matching outfit while performing with Bruno Mars, Sting and Ziggy Marley for a Bob Marly tribute. Rihanna has just the amount of sparkle and skin showing to look beautiful and sexy at the same time.

Shenae Grimes, from The CW's 90210, bares her midriff in this cute black top back in 2012. Her fashion roams all over the place, but this decision was a smart one. She looks great and super toned.
