Transient Arrested In Connection With San Mateo Bank Robbery
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a transient man on Monday in Burlingame who was wanted in connection with the robbery of a Wells Fargo bank in downtown San Mateo last week.
Burlingame police were responding to the scene of a medical call involving an intoxicated female at the Vagabond Inn in Burlingame when they recognized a man at the scene who matched the description of the suspect in the San Mateo bank robbery, which occurred at a Wells Fargo on Oct. 1.
Officers also found a hat and wig at the Vagabond Inn linking the man to the crime in San Mateo, police said.

Detectives from the San Mateo Police Department were able to match Myer and the evidence to the robbery of the bank at 100 E. Fourth Ave., which occurred around noon on Oct. 1, police said.
According to San Mateo police, Myers handed a note to a Wells Fargo bank teller and wielded what looked like a silver detonating device with a red button. He fled the scene after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash from the teller.
He was wearing a white T-shirt with a logo on the pocket and a dark hat with an apparently blond wig with a ponytail. He was described as a middle-aged man standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and heavy-set, police said.
No one was injured in the robbery and police do not know if the device was real or an imitation.
