Transbay Tube Reopens, BART Trains Running, Delays Systemwide
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- BART has resumed transbay service between Oakland and San Francisco Tuesday morning after the Transbay Tube was closed for three days for maintenance, BART officials said.
The system was recovering this morning from major systemwide delays, BART officials said.
The officials said the recovery started at 6:08 a.m. The delays started just before 5 a.m., according to BART officials.
The first trains were getting ready to make their runs at about 4:10 a.m., the officials said. But the first trains ran about 20 minutes late to restore normal operation through the tube, according to BART officials.
