Woman Killed In Accident On I-80 In Benicia
BENICIA (BCN) A woman was killed and at least one other person was injured when a vehicle overturned on northbound Interstate Highway 680 in unincorporated Benicia Thursday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The solo-vehicle crash was reported shortly after 12:35 p.m. on
northbound Highway 680 near Parish Road, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.
One victim was ejected from the vehicle and at least one other
person was injured in the crash, Anderson said.
The Solano County coroner's office was called to the scene after one of the victims, a woman, succumbed to her injuries, he said.
The woman's identity is not being released until her family is
notified of the death, according to the coroner's office.
At least one other victim was taken to John Muir Medical Center, Anderson said. He did not know the victim's condition.
The crash blocked the far right lane of northbound Highway 680 for nearly two hours. The highway reopened shortly before 2:25 p.m., Anderson said.
