'Total Recall': Schwarzenegger's Memoir In The Works
NEW YORK (CBS / AP) - Arnold Schwarzenegger has a book deal.
The bodybuilder, actor, former California governor and estranged husband of Maria Shriver has an agreement with Simon & Schuster to publish a memoir in October 2012.
According to Simon & Schuster, the book's working title is "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story." Schwarzenegger is collaborating with Peter Petre, who has worked on best sellers by former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan and Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf. Schwarzenegger began the book last year.

"I've got to say that if he was honest about it, and really got down to some brass tacks, it could be a very incredible story," said KCBS and Chronicle Insider Phil Matier.
"A guy comes here in his early 20s, barely speaking English, works his way through the body-building industry, becomes one of the most unlikely movie starts we've seen since… I can't recall, with a name that's just absolutely unbelievable, and then goes on to become governor of California after marrying a Kennedy. Throw in an illegitimate child by the maid, and add all that Hollywood stuff that was floating around, it could be pretty interesting. I just don't know if he's got it in him to tell the truth," Matier added.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The publisher is billing the book as "a larger-than-life portrait of his illustrious, controversial and ever-entertaining life in and out of the public eye."
