Top 2016 NFL Draft Prospects: Wide Receiver Pool Is Deep; Treadwell Likely To Go First
By Danny Cox
Every NFL team could use a great number one wide receiver or even one that has the speed, hands, agility, and talent to rise to the top in time. There is a great crop of wide receiver prospects for this year's NFL Draft, but team needs may cause a number of them to slide down further than they really should.
All in all, some late first-round teams are going to get their pick of these extremely talented wide-outs and end up with a future star.
Braxton Miller - Ohio State
He started his college career as a quarterback and pretty much expected to continue playing that position into the NFL. Little did Miller know that Ohio State would have an abundance of quarterback talent, and he'd land in the wide receiver position and be one of the top choices in 2016.
Currently, Miller is expected to go in the second round of the draft as he's the number four overall wide receiver prospect on the boards of numerous teams. The New England Patriots could truly benefit from getting a young target for Tom Brady, and Miller fits that bill.
Josh Doctson - TCU
Any quarterback in the NFL would love to play with Doctson as they can throw it anywhere, and he will find a way to go up and get it. As a senior, he racked up 79 receptions for 1,337 yards and 14 touchdowns. He can jump like there is no gravity and his hands are something that veteran receivers wish they had. It's possible that he could fall out of the first round, but the Cincinnati Bengals are hoping he'll be around by the number 24 pick too.
Laquon Treadwell - Ole Miss
It's really not hard to see why Treadwell is regarded as the top wide receiver in the 2016 NFL Draft. 82 receptions in 2015 for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns is nothing to ignore, and the Los Angeles Rams could very well steal him with the number 15 pick in the draft. If he doesn't end up going to the Rams, look for the Houston Texans to snag him at number 22.

Corey Coleman - Baylor
The race to be the first receiver taken in the draft is between Treadwell and Coleman, and it will likely be up to the Rams who takes that title. The 15th overall pick is most likely where the first receiver will be drafted and whoever doesn't go to the Rams will land with the Texans at 22.
Coleman had a staggering 20 receiving touchdowns in 2015 after having 11 in 2014 and none during his freshman season. He's advanced a lot in a short amount of time, and his upside his huge.
Will Fuller - Notre Dame
Originally, Fuller was seen as a second or third round pick, but his draft stock has risen a good bit in the last month. At the scouting combine in February, he clocked the fastest 40 time among all wide receivers and he's already proven he is a great talent and target during his time at Notre Dame.
There is a great chance he could be the second or third receiver off of the board. The Rams are likely going to look at Treadwell or Coleman before Fuller enters the equation.
Tyler Boyd - Pittsburgh
Depending on what happens in the first round and how many wide receivers are off the board by mid-second, the L.A. Rams could take a long hard look at Tyler Boyd. Even if they snag one in the first round, if Boyd is available by pick number 45, they'd easily draft him. The one thing the Rams need more than anything is additional talent at the wide receiver position.
