Tom Brady Returns To San Mateo Serra High School For Fundraiser
SAN MATEO (CBS SF) - New England Patriots quarterback and Bay Area native Tom Brady helped his high school alma mater cash in during a fundraiser Thursday evening.
The NFL star was the main attraction at San Mateo's Serra High School during an event to raise money for scholarships.
Brady graduated from Serra in 1995 after starring on the varsity football team.
He spoke to a jam-packed crowd inside the gym at the all-boys Catholic school. During the event, a Brady Serra football jersey sold for $20,000. Brady also made a $100,000 donation.

Brady spoke just days after the death of his longtime mentor, quarterback coach Tom Martinez. Brady briefly choked up as he mentioned Martinez during his speech.
Serra's annual Fund a Dream Scholarship Benefit has raised $850,000 in student financial aid since 2005.
