Toddler Seeks Help After Vallejo Carjack, Kidnapping
VALLEJO (CBS SF) - Authorities searched Wednesday for two men who stole a car at gunpoint in Vallejo Tuesday night with a two-and-a-half year old girl strapped into a car seat in the backseat. The girl later sought help on her own after the car was abandoned.
Police say about 9:45 p.m., the girl's father was driving southbound on Napa Street near Alabama Street when a white car driving northbound cut him off, forcing him to stop.

Vallejo Police Sergeant Kelly Schroeder said two men jumped out, forced the man out of his car at gunpoint and ordered him to lie on the ground while one of the suspects drove away in the car.
The suspects Schroeder said that the victim did not know the suspects but believe his car may have been targeted because it had "very flashy 26-inch rims."
The car was abandoned shortly thereafter. Police believe the little girl let herself out of the car seat and knocked on nearby doors looking for help.
"A half hour later the two-and-a-half year old was knocking on doors of apartments in the 200 block of Springs Road," said Schroeder. "Neighbors called us, and we discovered that that was the toddler that was in the car that was taken."
The victim's car was found abandoned in front of the resident's home. Neither the girl nor her father were injured.
Both suspects were described as black men, around 22 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with medium builds.
The suspect who drove away with the car had shoulder-length dreadlocks with gold tips, Schroeder said.
