Winning Numbers In $425 Million Mega Millions Jackpot Selected
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Friday the 13th didn't deter lottery players in California and dozens of other states, as the jackpot in the Mega Millions game surged to $425 million for the drawing Friday night.
The winning numbers selected were 19, 24, 26, 27, 70, and Mega number 12.
A winner who selected the cash payout option would have about $228 million before taxes. A ticket matching five numbers – but not the mega – would still be worth an estimated $2.45 Million.
Lottery officials said Friday that about one third of the possible number combinations had been sold for the draw.
This is the largest jackpot since the game was changed in October to include a larger field of regular numbers but fewer potential mega numbers.
Friday night's jackpot is the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot ever. The largest was a $656 million jackpot in 2012.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states, as well as the District of Colombia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
