The Simpsons - 'Life On The Fast Lane'

Marge contemplates having an affair with a local womanizer after Homer selfishly buys her a bowling ball for her birthday.

Homer refuses to admit that he forgot Marge's birthday and rushes from the house to buy a present only he can use. When he presents Marge with her very own bowling ball, drilled to fit his fingers and with his name written on it, Marge feels unloved and uncared for. To get back at Homer, she decides to take up bowling so he cannot use her gift. Practicing on her own at the bowling alley, Marge meets the local pro and womanizer, Jacques. He offers her lessons, and shows her the attention she never receives from Homer. Marge bowls every night while leaving Homer alone with the kids, and she begins to enjoy Jacques's company, not to mention a blossoming bowling style of her own.

Aware that Marge is spending a lot of time at the bowling alley, Homer suspects something is not right, but is unable to tell Marge how he feels. Jacques asks Marge to meet him at his apartment. Swept away by her fantasy of what might happen at Jacques's apartment, she accepts. Before walking out the door for work, Homer searches for the right words to tell Marge how much he appreciates and needs her, but can only say how good her peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are.

On her way to Jacques's apartment, Marge has second thoughts. She encounters a fork in the road, one path leading to Jacques and the other leading to the nuclear power plant where Homer works. Passing happy couples, with happy families, enjoying happy lives, she heads to Jacques. But she realizes that happiness is not everything. She takes the other road to be with Homer, for better or for worse. An overjoyed Homer lifts his wife into his arms and tells his fellow employees he will be in the back seat of his car and will return in ten minutes.
