The Simpsons - 'Lard Of The Dance' - Season 10, Episode 1
Homer thinks he can net a fortune by recycling grease. Lisa helps organize a school dance.
Homer strikes up a conversation with after noticing a distinct difference in the taste of a Kwik-E-Dog. Apu explains that the grill machine was recently cleansed of putrid grease. Once a month a company retrieves the lard and sells it to a reprocessing plant, where it is turned into soap, cosmetics and other products. Homer grows euphoric when he realizes used grease is worth money. At home, he begins frying bacon and collecting the precious drippings. Meanwhile, as the new school year gets underway, Principal Skinner asks Lisa to escort a new student, Alex Whitney, around the building. Lisa obliges. Alex, who hails from Capitol City, is more stylishly dressed than Lisa, and acts in a more sophisticated manner. Alex's cell phone, purse and credit cards immediately endear her to new classmates…much to Lisa's dismay.
Principal Skinner approaches Lisa and asks her to spearhead the school's annual apple-pick. Lisa volunteers her services, but Alex convinces Skinner and her classmates that a school dance would be far more interesting. Lisa is again asked to spearhead the planning, and despite her misgivings, she agrees. As time passes, however, Lisa releases that all of her classmates, including Milhouse, has a date to the dance. Everyone, that is, except herself. Meanwhile, Homer and Bart stop by a Krusty Burger and help themselves to massive piles of gelatinous white grease. But two jump-suited thugs foil their efforts. Claiming that they run the "grease game" in Springfield, the thugs attack Homer, then siphon his haul using a tanker truck and hose. A depressed Homer returns home, lamenting that the thugs have driven him out of business. But Bart suggests that instead of giving up, they should concentrate on pulling off one last big score.
Bart convinces Homer that the largest quantity of grease in Springfield lies inside the grease traps of Springfield elementary. Dragging a siphoning hose behind them, the pair make their way through the school's ventilation system. Meanwhile, the school dance gets underway. Despite her misgivings, Lisa mans the ticket table outside the gym door as her fellow classmates arrive with their dates. As the gym door opens and closes, Lisa catches bits and pieces of conversations, and concludes that the event is a big hit. Meanwhile, Bart and Homer conclude their journey through the ventilation system and end up in the school's kitchen. But as they begin siphoning off the grease, Groundskeeper Willie catches them in the act. Realizing the intruders are taking his prized "retirement grease," Willie springs into action. Bart and Homer climb back into the ventilation shaft, but Willie cuts short their escape. A struggle ensues between Homer and Willie, during which the grease begins backing up in the hose. Meanwhile, against her better judgement, Lisa enters the gymnasium. To her surprise, she discovers that the boys and girls are at opposite sides of the gym, milling about uncomfortably. She realizes her classmates are not in as much of a hurry to grow up as they thought. Back in the ventilation shaft, the hose explodes, sending Bart, Homer and Willie rocketing through the ducts with great speed. The vents in the gymnasium suddenly erupt with flakes of wet grease… prompting the now-jubilant children to engage in an all-out grease fight.
