The Reviews Are In For 'Arrow'
ATLANTA (CW69) - On Wednesday night's season premiere of "Arrow", a vigilante — seeking revenge more than superhero status — returns to Starling City after a boat crash. CW's "Arrow" has already been ranked as one of the top ten best new shows of the fall season by multiple critics. Now as the date draws closer, reviews are coming in, specifically The Hollywood Reporter and a blurb from EW. The consensus seems to be that "Arrow" is perfect for the CW. And I'm mighty glad that the CW is perfect for "Arrow" too.
From Entertainment Weekly:
The CW's "Arrow" is not only the network's best new show, it's also one of the the best freshman fall shows on any network. Is it a CW bite-sized hoodie-wearing version of "Batman Begins?" A bit. But if you're going to be inspired by a superhero origin movie, that's a great place to start.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
The Bottom Line: An entertaining comic book adaptation that's right on brand for The CW.
THR goes on to talk about Stephen Amell's abs. They've quickly become the second star of the show. THR says, "he's got the abs of steel, the good-looking mug and athletic ability." Basically, he's a superhero. But unlike other heroic comic book characters, Arrow's moral compass is a little of kilter.
EW says, "He's not like Superman or Batman with some firm (and, let's face it, impractical) moral code against killing psychopathic criminals. Arrow isn't out to hurt anybody, but if he's forced to defend himself, he's not going to aim for your legs." Don't you just hate it when the Joker keeps reappearing in Gotham City? Really, Batman shouldn't be surprised his old foes pop back up when he refuses to actually kill them.
Will you be watching "Arrow" on Wednesday at 8 pm?
